Job Position : Production Setup Technician

Location : Logan, UT 84321

Pay Rate : $17.00 / hr

Shift : Swing 3 : 00 pm to 11 : 30 pm

Must develop the skills and ability needed to assemble, install, and target production equipment used to fabricate most production models.

Must be capable of providing suggestions for continuous process improvements used throughout ceramics production. Must be capable of providing kiln support as required.

Must be able to communicate well with co-workers, maintain a good attitude, have above average attendance and have a strong commitment to day-to-day production requirements.

II. SPECIFIC DUTIES : 1. Must learn to properly inspect tool capsules, production tooling, presses, and press subsystems.

2. Must learn correct procedures for polishing carbide. 3. Must learn proper assembly techniques for dry press, green score, laser and roll com equipment 4.

Must learn to use calculations to achieve proper bench and tool capsule settings required for installation of setups in most presses.

Must learn to set and adjust press subsystems timing for installation and targeting of tool capsules in most presses. 5.

Must learn procedures for using optical gauging equipment used for measuring targeted models. 6. Must learn to read engineering drawings.

7. For Dry Press production must learn filling characteristics involved in targeting and running production tooling, including the use of relative density calculations and making proper fill shoe, weight, thickness and timing adjustments.

8. Must learn to properly inspect, setup, and maintain offloading equipment. 9. Must learn selected preventative maintenance procedures for presses, tool capsules, offloading devices and other production equipment as assigned.

10. Must learn and participate in kiln maintenance, including changing rollers, splitting the roller drive and reading the control panel.

11. Must learn proper procedure for entering data gathered while setting up, targeting and adjusting setups. 12. Must learn standard QA inspection procedures for inspecting targets using dye check, visual and optical gauging equipment.

13. Must maintain a clean and orderly work area. Must follow all safety regulations at all times. 14. Must perform other duties as assigned.

Experience may be substituted for schooling. EXPERIENCE : SPC, computer skill, use of basic measuring equipment, basic shop equipment, and proficient with hand tool mechanics.
